Presidents Run
Sunday 11th October 2016 will see our President Jim Allen invite all our members young and old, fast and slow to our annual full club cycle ride to Acomb Community Centre for his last time as President.
Jim will be stepping down at the end of the year, Jim said "There is a great spirit in this club and having been given the opportunity to be President for the last 3 years has been fantastic - so much has developed in the club in the last few years, yet I'm sure there's yet more to anticipate in 2016".
The details will follow the usual format. meeting in Ponteland, car park area by the shops (opposite the church just off North Road behind the Blackbird) at 09.30am for a steady ride, collecting riders at Stamfordham, before riding on through Matfen, Great Wittington and stopping at Sandhoe for the annual downhill freewheel competition and hill climb, before the leisurely feast and an inform race back to Ponteland.
Lunch will be at Acomb Village hall where food/cake/tea will be provided for Club Members.
