Womens Ride

Breeze is British Cycling's biggest programme ever to get more women into riding bikes for fun. They're helping thousands more women feel confident and comfortable about going on a ride. Breeze is a National Lottery funded nationwide network of fun, local and flexible bike rides designed to close the gap between the number of men and women cycling regularly, and introduce over 80000 new women to bike riding.

Led by women for women, these bike rides are local, friendly and informal. The rides are ideal for women who haven't been on a bike for a while and would like to go for a casual bike ride with a small group of women from their area.

Currently three times as many men take part in cycling regularly and the gap is growing, yet research suggests that nearly one million British women would like to ride a bike more often. (source...British Cycling). So here's your chance!!!

Ann Hodgson is Barnesbury's "Ladies Leader", a British Cycling qualified Breeze Champion and Ride Leader...a regular rider herself, Ann commutes, competes and rides for leisure on her own, with friends and with her family.

Ann will be running led rides of varying difficulties, ranging from 'first timer pootles' right through to the more intense 'training' rides on either road or mountain bikes.

You can contact Ann through the club website if you're interested in attending a ride to discuss which type of ride would be best suited for you and when it will be on.
