We are sad to announce that Barnesbury member Bob Leftwich died on March 11th aged 86.
Bob was a BCC active member in the 1940's and 50's. He raced on the track and in road races with considerable success and took part in trials for the 1948 Olympics where he beat World Track Sprint Champion, Reg Harris. His work took him away from the North East , eventually to Cheshire, where in due course he retired. Throughout his life he maintained a keen interest in the affairs of, and affection for, the Barnesbury CC.
