Young Volunteer Award

The Barnesbury CC is helping to create a new generation of volunteers by introducing the very popular British Cycling Young Volunteer Award into the club. British Cycling will be holding a ‘Cycling Award for Young Volunteers’ workshop on April 7th in the Durham/Houghton area (venue TBC). The course will be a full day 09:00-16:30 and is open to members of North East Go-Ride clubs aged between 14 and 17. British Cycling welcomes all young people who are looking to build their leadership and communication skills in a practical environment.  A fantastic place to start volunteering within cycling is through the Cycling Award for Young Volunteers (CAYV) programme. This combines an introductory workshop, which covers the fundamentals of cycle sport and volunteering roles, with practical placements with our Go-Ride community clubs.

For more information on what the workshop includes visit: www.britishcycling.org.uk/youngvolunteers. There are only 16 places available on the course, so don't delay book now to avoid disappointment and help the clubs future (booking is by Friday 20th March). If you would like to know more about how young people can get involved in volunteering in your club to help develop our activity, events or coaching please go to http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/youngvolunteers or contact Stephen McIntosh through our website.
