BC Divisional Meeting

British Cycling North East Division has contacted all clubs to inform them of a meeting on Saturday 27th June 2015. The meeting invites members to attend to take part in a review of the British Cycling North East development plan.  The board, elected by BC clubs, wish to discuss progress in developing cycling in the region and consult with you, the stakeholders, in taking the sport forward.

Much of the potential to expand and improve cycling lies in finding volunteers to take on roles and develop initiatives.  We are therefore looking for potential new recruits in all these areas:

  • Race commissaires – all disciplines

  • Marshals – willing to qualify in the “accredited marshal” scheme

  • Race organisers – we can offer excellent support to anyone new to this

  • Managers for youth and junior teams – all disciplines

  • Coaches

  • Workgroup members – see how our board structure enables you to get involved according to your interest.

The meeting will be held at the Belmont Community Centre, Durham from 1.00pm-4.00pm. All BC members are welcome to find out what the board and existing volunteers and officers are doing on your behalf – refreshments provided for those willing to give up their Saturday afternoon! If you are unable to attend but would like to volunteer as a commissaire please get in touch with Stephen. If you are not a BC member but would like to be, remember you may be entitled to reduced fees through being a member of the club.
